New Beginning - hard edge geometric oil painting by Victoria Kloch I'm super excited about my newest series of minimal geometrics. This piece is only the beginning. When I create my compositions, there is a lot of things to consider. The balance of color and shape placement is intentional. Every shape with it's color has to work together in harmony from the tip top corners that must work with the bottom corners and throughout using everything in between. My love for these pieces is driven by the challenge each piece presents itself. Now here's the test that they do work as great design. As I studied my complicated works I found vignettes that can stand on their own. I am over top, brimming with joy to get started on these colorful minimal hard edge abstracts. This one is my first. Gold Outside In - 48"x36" - Geometric hard edge abstract by Victoria Kloch - Commission - January of 2020
I've painted all kinds of abstracts. Most have been absolutely spontaneous with no preconceived thoughts of where to begin other then the color. Painting like that is a lot of fun and I love happy accidents when it comes to design. But if truth be told, I love painting geometrics the most. I love having to take hold and control the composition. If one thing is off, it throws the whole painting off. It challenges my brain, and I like that. Lately I've been working on my geometrics with organic shapes. These are oil paintings with bright saturated color. The piece you see here is called 'Tree House'. So far I have five completed pieces and you can see them by clicking on this link NEW COLLECTION. I'm currently working on one in the same series that is 30"x48". _Victoria Continuing on with my latest pieces. This is 'House of Glass' 36"x36" acrylic on canvas by Victoria Kloch
It seems like I can't get enough of this color palette. I just love it. I started this painting without any preconceived ideas on where to begin, so I just drove right in. The spontaneous reactions brought some very happy accidents. Black On White - 48"x48"x 1.5" deep - oil painting by Victoria Kloch

A cool thing about the bra that I used, when it was new, it was originally sold by Victoria's Secret in their 'Pink' campaign. Kite Runner, 30"x35" by Victoria Kloch
This is my latest painting in my new on-going series of white-line hard edge abstract abstract. After painting hard edge geometrics for the past 10 years I had the nagging desire to create with more fluid, organic shapes. After a year of putting it off, I surrendered to whatever it is that puts these ideas in my brain. I now I can't paint them fast enough before I have a new one going in my mind. Fortunately I can paint these in between my commission work and it feels so liberating to have that passion back. This piece of retro mania is a mid century style watercolor on 300 lb. weight watercolor paper. I used my favorite watercolor Prussian blue and black ink to frame the geometric shapes. This piece as deckled torn edges and would look really cool placed under glass on top of the background board framing to show off the edges of this beautiful watercolor paper. |
