It's hard for me to believe that Lucy and I have been together for nearly seven years. My little Boston Terrier is perfect, well almost perfect. They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks and in this case I'm the old dog. It's high time to seriously work on walking with a leash. For the most part, in the past, she is the one who walks us. Pulling our arms out of their sockets as she weaves from side to side. Our walks for the most part are challenging and I long to be able to just go on casual strolls everyday. When we take her hiking, off the leash, she's great. She listens and there is no problem when called. Unfortunately when it comes to walking through the neighbor that's just not the case. After googling for help, I am finding that all I need to do is to learn how I need to become the alpha dog. It looks like most of the experts out there agree that the struggle we now face while walking my little powerhouse of pure muscle will become easy breezy if I consistently follow through. Eventually this will reassure her that I am in charge and she can simply relax and enjoy our walk. Feeling optimistic and ready to face the neighborhood.

Yesterday our friend invited Kurt and me out on his Carver to explore the San Francisco Bay. Though we've been fortunate to do this many times, each time there is something new to see. Yesterday we had the privilege watching easily one hundred pelicans fly overhead. That was an ahhhh moment. I wasn't able to get my camera in time but never the less it was awesome.

What I can share with you is this photo. If you are a commuter that travels back and forth from Marin County to
San Francisco, you have crossed the Golden Gate many times. This picture here is the less traveled route.
This was taken from underneath the Golden Gate Bridge. From an art prospective I can relate it to a Franz Kline structured painting with strong geometric shapes. The bottom shows the fog rolling over the Golden Gate Bridge
taken from land at the Presidio by the Discovery Museum.

Roller Coaster - Sold

With so much going on in the world, it's hard to concentrate and stay focused on the beautiful side of life. I gave up regular television a few years ago to be free of the madness from commercials that bombard us with things that they tell us we need. Now I stream all of my movies and watch only what I want to see.

Like it or not, world events have their impact on all of us. Fortunately, I have my work to bring me back to that quiet space of color and paint making my time even more precious to me.

California Dreamin

As I continue visiting some of my older paintings, this one was titled 'California Dreamin'. A modern abstract, 30" x 40" painted with acrylic. I was happy how the thin layering of paint worked here. I wonder, what do my viewers see in this?

Amber Waves

I've stepped out of my usual color palette with Amber Waves and I enjoyed every minute of it. Red is such an amazing color with the pow factor. Add gold and you've got a dramatic journey for the imagination to wander and re-visit. Amber Waves 30"x48" a work of modern expressionism by Victoria Kloch. This piece sold and will be showcased in a wine tasting room.

Transcend

Transcend 24" x 36" acrylic painting. This small painting brought me big attention. It was featured in The Coastal Living Magazine - Must Haves in May 2015. After that feature it was a whirlwind of re-creating commission orders. Actually there was so many that I lost count. Only in my wildest of dreams, this was very exciting.

Forward

This geometric minimal painting I titled 'Forward'. It is 24"x36" in a palette of greens, grays and black.

I found this to be a soothing composition with unpretentious elegance. Through it's simplicity it speaks volumes as to what could be going on here. It's one of my personal favorites and I'm happy it found a home.

Now and Zen

It's Wednesday and my second post on this new blog. I'm showing you the painting Now and Zen - 16" x 20" that was sold in 2013.

I loved using this soothing, minimal palette and I plan on painting a similar one only much larger soon.
