Outside The Box - 48"x48" geometric expressionism oil abstract by Victoria Kloch
Soft, lively and big all at the same time. I decided to paint over the painting below called Face in the Crowd using sections of the original painting exposed. Now I'm really happy I did. If you know me I'm really not one to use a lot of pink, but this Salmon pink is breathtaking and will become the show piece in the room. Please ask for availability. A Face In The Crowd 48"x48" oil abstract expressionism by Victoria Kloch
I am one of those of people that can't help seeing faces in abstract paintings. This piece will keep you busy for a very long time. Pan down to the next image and what do you see? It's fun to look back on what I was painting 10 years ago. This was a small watercolor that sold early on. I wish I had a scanner back then. It would have made a really great print in large format.
#victoriaklochart #expressionism #watercolorabstract Continuing on with my latest pieces. This is 'House of Glass' 36"x36" acrylic on canvas by Victoria Kloch
It seems like I can't get enough of this color palette. I just love it. I started this painting without any preconceived ideas on where to begin, so I just drove right in. The spontaneous reactions brought some very happy accidents. Black On White - 48"x48"x 1.5" deep - oil painting by Victoria Kloch

Kurt makes me a sturdy crate, that's how we do it! What you can't see is that on the end pieces, there is a disk that fits inside of the tube that the painting is rolled on. That way the painting is completely suspended without touching the sides. completely protected. Below shows the foam board over the painting. He than places heavy shipping cardboard over that. Three Shades of Gold - 30"x40" by Victoria Kloch - Sold Elegant Gold, I never get tired of painting with gold metallic acrylics. I find the reflective nature very exciting as it picks up different colors in the room. No wonder it's so popular. Transcend - 24"x36" - acrylic on canvas by Victoria Kloch - Sold
Featured in the popular magazine Coastal Living I just finished my commission for these two color field paintings. The blue painting is 24"x30" that was re-created from an older painting I did last year called 'Finding Sea Glass', it was the inspiration for the sister painting next to is measuring 18"x24". I set out to design these so my client could hang either single or together and I think this idea worked out perfectly.

My World - 5"x7" watercolor abstract by Victoria Kloch - 2014 Sold
I don't know how other painters feel, but for me each painting documents periods of time. When I came upon this painting on my sold page, the name really stood out to me. This small little painting has a really big name. My World suggest something very personal. Perhaps when I named it, it was more about the process at least that's what comes to my mind as I look at it four years down the road. On that particular day, it was about purple, yellow and green. Somehow, it was those colors on that day back in 2014 that made my day a little brighter. Autumn Lights - 9"x12" watercolor with gold ink by Victoria Kloch - Sold
I've been going through some of my older pieces and I came across Autumn Lights. I forgot how much I liked this one. I have some beautiful large watercolor paper waiting for a project. I think it's calling my name and requesting something like this. Just Right - 36"x36" color field abstract painting by Victoria Kloch
Painted with aqua, white and gray across the canvas with vertical and horizontal movement. Even with color field painting an artist must know when to stop. This is it, just right. Prussian Blue 29.5"x41" watercolor on paper seascape color field painting by Victoria Kloch - Sold
Prussian Blue Winsor Newton watercolor paint has got to be on the top of my list of favorite watercolors to use. For this painting I used it on bright white, 300 lb. hot press by Fabriano. It amazed me how by using just one color could create such depth but that was only possible because of this high quality watercolor paper. When this gets framed under glass, all I can say is wow! Purple Haze 16"x24" landscape color field abstract by Victoria Kloch - Sold
This painting was in inspired from another hike in Sunol many years ago. We had spent the whole day exploring the hills and by the time we started to head back the sky was starting to change. From where we were, the light was moving behind the trees cooling us from the heat of the day. As we looked up into the vista the view was breathtaking to my eyes where the sky in the far off distance now had a bluish lavender glow. Purple, Red and Rose Blocks #2 - 36"x36" acrylic on canvas Color Field Painting by Victoria Kloch
The first Purple, Red and Rose Blocks that I painted sold within 24 hours of posting it's availability. I don't usually re-create a piece like this unless someone request a commission, but Kurt suggested that I should do it again. I took on his challenge just to see if I could pull it off again. The first piece glowed with excitement using bold bright colors that I don't normally use. My own insecurities had me question was the first one a happy accident or can I contribute it's success to skillfully executed painting techniques? If you have ever tried to paint a Rothko color field with acrylic paints you will know it's not as easy as it looks. My Rothko studies have helped me tremendously as a painter to learn depth and color combinations that I can use in all of my painting. As for was I able to capture that same magic of the first painting? Let 's just say, I am very happy with this piece. #Mark Rothko, #Rothko color field, #abstract color field 'Mirage' an original color field painting by Victoria Kloch
Mirage was painted with yellow, white and gray acrylic on raw canvas. I was very happy with this method of painting. This technique is called stain painting and was discovered by Helen Frankenthaler. This piece is currently un stretched. After it is placed on wooden stretcher bars the final size will be 24"x35". In the Pink 30"x30" original color field abstract painting by Victoria Kloch
On Saturday I received a request for a custom painting of one of my most recent paintings 'In the Pink'. This project will be to create two smaller oblong pieces to run horizontally 20"x48" across. Here you can get an idea by using Photoshop what the overall paintings will look like though the actual recreation will have it's own unique story by using the same color palette and technique. Below - the finished re-created commission paintings In the Pink. 20"x48" Zen Perceiving the Bull - 50"x50" acrylic on un- stretched canvas When painting this piece it was initially a huge struggle. So much so I have two paintings underneath of what you see here. It was building up a lot of texture for sure. It was only when I lost myself and finally got to the place that it was just me and the paint it all started to fall into place. Yes, for me this has become an emotional body of work where no bull can hide. In loving memory of Jolyon Pehrson, friend and teacher. Perceiving the Bull (3) - taken from the master teachings 'Zen Flesh Zen Bones' I hear the song of the nightingale. The sun is warm, the wind is mild, willows are green along the shore, Here no bull can hide! What artist can draw that massive head, those majestic horns? Comment: When one hears the voice, one can sense its source. As soon as the six senses merge, the gate is entered. Wherever one enters one sees the head of the bull! This unity is like salt in water, like color in dyestuff. The slightest thing is not apart from self. What is the Bull? The bull is the eternal principle of life, truth in action. The ten bulls represent sequent steps in the realization of one's true nature Close up
I Know There's a Silver Lining Somewhere II - Color Field painting by Victoria Kloch 60"x50"
This piece was a commissioned painting that I re-created in 2017. On it's own, white can make a striking statement. By adding a bit of silver to it, it sings with unpretentious elegance of modern minimalism. The Emperor's Garden 26"x24" color field abstract, acrylic on canvas un stretched.
For this piece I use two very different colors of gold paints and I'm crazy about how it plays with the red. For such a small painting this has a grand imperial presents. I just love it when happy accidents happen. |
