The Emperor's Garden 26"x24" color field abstract, acrylic on canvas un stretched.
For this piece I use two very different colors of gold paints and I'm crazy about how it plays with the red. For such a small painting this has a grand imperial presents. I just love it when happy accidents happen.

My new oil paints just arrived. I'm looking forward to painting some contemporary modern coastal paintings. I've been wanting to do this for so long and Kurt asked me what have I been waiting for? Just do it. Must be right because I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas.
All is Not in Black and White 24"x36" acrylic on stretched canvas by Victoria Kloch
It seems the older I get the more it is apparent to me that life has far more gray areas then I realize. I am constantly in a state of trying to minimalize my life. There is really something to be said about the phase, Keep it Simple Stupid. Are you interested in this painting? Please check SELECT WORK or Contact for availability. Latte 30"x30" acrylic on canvas color field painting by Victoria Kloch
I really had fun with this piece. To create the movement I had to use a lot of paint. I had paint all over the place. Working with paint like this gave me the flowing, oozing movement of the sienna in the white. I found with all of the different values of this one color so exciting that I decided not to add another color and kept it minimal in design. This painting is on stretched canvas and is ready to hang. Please contact for availability. This color field is just as it is called, Deep Gray Blue. It is 30"x30" with painterly rolling textures. I came up with a neutral blue that I fell in love with against the white. It is not as bright as Prussian Blue yet very soothing to look at. For availability you can check the select works page or contact page. Please include the name of the painting in your inquiry. Thank you, Victoria
Quite Noise 30" x 30" modern color field painting by Victoria Kloch
I really enjoy this type of painting. I find beauty in soft contrast with only a touch of color peeking through. It is like each color has a mind of its own. Intuitively I am left with the decision on what to cover up and what not to but ultimately it is the happy accidents that remain that makes this process so exciting. It is always a welcome surprise when a painting finds just that right collector and today was that day for the Taste of Wine. I recreated this same painting for the Fort Totten Community Center measuring 36"x60". Tequila Sunrise 30"x48" color field painting by Victoria Kloch
It is safe to say, this is one lively composition with cadmium yellows, red, green and ultramarine blue. If interested please check 'Select Works' page or contact me for availability. A Rose Door - 8"x10" modern abstract expressionism painting by Victoria Kloch
I painted six small paintings recently using different colors. I started without any preconceived plans on what to paint. The colors in this piece are like eating strawberries and orange sherbet. For this one I used magenta, orange, white and permanent rose. With a square blunt brush I dove in and just let it happen. White Water Yin, Diptych Abstract Paintings by Victoria Kloch
Some paintings have a way of taking you to another place. That's how I feel about this piece. The multi layers of soft muted pinks and golden yellows made a place that is peaceful with gentle rippling movement of water that you would perhaps see in a pond at The Japanese Tea Gardens. This painting was a journey for me and it will forever be one of my favorites. #CyTwombly, #midcenturypainting #modernartabstract #JapaneseTeaGarden, #Cy Twombly, #mid century painting #modern art abstract # Japanese Tea Garden Green Field abstract color field painting by Victoria Kloch - Sold
My Green Field painting was created with layer after layer of glazes. This painting along with my painting Cinnamon was purchased by the same collector who I thoroughly enjoyed working with. A Way of Zen 40"x40" un stretched by Victoria Kloch
I first placed my background in blue. After the blue layered dried I used the complementary colors green and red. These two colors merged and melted together in harmony making a neutral that is a soft blush color. I would like to say that I planned it this way because the underlaying blue actually complements the neutral blush making this a very happy accident. For me the emotion from this piece is calming, refreshing and tranquil. It will be sold un-stretched unless arrangements are made for me to stretch it on stretcher bars, otherwise it will be shipped rolled in a tube. If interested, please check for availability. Thank you, Victoria Cinnamon Color Field 48"x30" by Victoria Kloch has sold. This piece of modern minimalism was created by using many layers of glazes. Initially I applied aqua followed with burnt sienna. The intention was to neutralize the brightness of the aqua with the sienna and it worked beautifully.
For the past year I've been really busy getting a web site up for my sweet Kurt and I afraid this blog took a backseat. Now the world can see his amazing, shaped canvas paintings click here Kurt Wedgley.
