Up The Down Stairs,  hard-edge geometric abstract oil painting by Victoria Kloch

I think the balance of this piece really worked out well.  After sketching this out, before the oil paint, I was afraid that it would be way to busy. I wish I would have taken a photo of it for you.  I knew it was crucial to keep my palette simple with strong contrast.  It worked out far better then I  could have even imagined.  Colors are Indigo, coral, light blue, creme and caffe mocha. This one will be going large!

Hole In One  - Geometric abstract oil painting by Victoria Kloch

Titles of paintings have somehow became important to each piece. And sometimes they name themselves. This one did exactly that. I looked at the finished piece and immediately, Hole In One came to mind. This series has strong mid century attributes in rich, saturated oil colors.  You can find the other paintings in the main menu under NEW COLLECTION of this site.

You don't need a weather man to  know which way the wind blows

For me, this pretty much sums 'it' up.  What is 'it' to you?

Johnny's in the basement
Mixing up the medicine
I'm on the pavement
Thinkin' about the government
The man in the trench coat
Badge out, laid off
Says he's got a bad cough
Wants to get it paid off
Look out kid
It's somethin' you did
God knows when
But you're doin' it again
You better duck down the alley way
Lookin' for a new friend
The man in the coon-skin cap
In the pig pen
Wants eleven dollar bills
You only got ten
Maggie comes fleet foot
Face full of black soot
Talkin' that the heat put
Plants in the bed but
The phone's tapped anyway
Maggie says that many say
They must bust in early May
Orders from the D.A.
Look out kid
Don't matter what you did
Walk on your tip toes
Don't tie no bows
Better stay away from those
That carry 'round a fire hose
Keep a clean nose
Watch the plain clothes
You don't need a weather man
To know which way the wind blows
Ah, get sick, get well Look out kid
You're gonna get hit
By losers, cheaters
Six-time users
Hangin' 'round the theaters
Girl by the whirlpools
Lookin' for a new fool
Don't follow leaders
Watch the parkin' meters
Ah, get born, keep warm
Short pants, romance, learn to dance
Get dressed, get blessed
Try to be a success
Please her, please him, buy gifts
Don't steal, don't lift
Twenty years of schoolin'
And they put you on the day shift
Look out kid
They keep it all hid
Better jump down a manhole
Light yourself a candle
Don't wear sandals
Try to avoid the scandals
Don't wanna be a bum
You better chew gum
The pump don't work
'Cause the vandals took the handles

The Edge of Silence by Victoria Kloch
I love the poetic genius of Bob Dylan. The words to the song The Times They Are A-changin' are personal to whoever hears it.  For me it as definitely grown and evolved.  When I was young, it was an anti-war song in regards to Vietnam that reflected the times.. Now . . . it could be about the growing pains of a civil war that is currently brewing within our country.

The Times They Are A-changin'
Bob Dylan - The Essential Bob Dylan

Come gather 'round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You'll be drenched to the bone
If your time to you
Is worth savin'
Then you better start swimmin'

Or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come writers and critics, who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide, the chance won't come again
And don't speak too soon, for the wheel's still in spin
And there's no tellin' who that it's namin'
For the loser now will be later to win

For the times they are a-changin'
Come senators, congressmen, please heed the call
Don't stand in the doorway, don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt will be he who has stalled
The battle outside ragin'
Will soon shake your windows and rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin'
Come mothers and fathers throughout the land
And don't criticize what you can't understand
Your sons and your daughters are beyond your command1

Your old road is rapidly aging

Painted Neighborhood  geometric abstract oil painting by Victoria Kloch

This small painting is the first of  six in my new series that I began in 2019, so it is brand new. You will find the rest in the menu under paintings > new collection - Kloch.  While each of these little pieces are available,
I'm finding them to be useful studies for larger pieces of work.

Goin To Town

'Goin To Town' has a bit of a history behind it.  When it was time for me to get started laying out my design for this painting. There I sat, staring at a blank, white canvas as it waited for me to place the first shape.  Kurt entered the room and asked me what are you doing? I suggested that he should come over an take a look. He sat down and smiled. I handed my pencil over to him and thought it might be fun to collaborate on this one. Kurt has been very supportive of my new work. In case you don't know, Kurt makes the most amazing geometric paintings on custom shaped canvases so I knew this would be awesome.  And he did and I loved it!  I proceeded to place some slight finishing touches of my own, mapped out the colors and got to painting.  I can't be more thankful than to have  my partner who is an artist in my life that we can both work this close without our egos getting in the way. It truly means everything to me.

Tree House

I've painted all kinds of abstracts. Most have been absolutely spontaneous with no preconceived thoughts of where to begin other then the color.  Painting like that is a lot of fun and I love happy accidents when it comes to design.  But if truth be told, I love painting geometrics the most.  I love having to take hold and control  the composition.  If one thing is off, it throws the whole painting off. It challenges my brain, and I like that.

Lately I've been working on my geometrics with organic shapes. These are oil paintings with bright saturated color.  The piece you see here is called 'Tree House'.

So far I have five completed pieces and you can see them by clicking on this link NEW COLLECTION.  I'm currently working on one in the same series that is 30"x48".

_Your new website works like a dream!  I paid the last installment and wish I could give you a hug for being so very kind to me!!

_Very nice painting, and quite possibly the BEST packaging I've ever seen in years of online purchasing.

_This painting and the others I bought from Victoria are all wonderful! We love them all, 10 in total with the 2 for 1 we bought. They really look lovely in our home. Thank you

_ Hard to put into words how easy this process was with you and how thrilled I am. If you ever have a client who wants to speak to a past customer please think of me. I would be so much more than happy to sing your praises! So Beautiful!!! Victoria and I spoke many times as this piece of art was being created. She is a delight to work with... both receptive to my thoughts and full of vision. I highly recommend her for her ability to paint beautifully as well as her willingness to listen to her clients' needs. Ten stars if I could.
